Why homeowners switch to central vacuum

The difference is noticeable from the first use.

01

More suction, less effort

Central vacuum systems produce 2-3x more suction than portable vacuums. The power unit sits in your garage or utility room – what you’re carrying through the house is just a lightweight hose and floor tool.

02

No cord. No hauling a machine up the stairs

Plug the hose into any wall inlet and start cleaning. The unit is out of the way, the noise stays in the garage, and you cover the whole house without tripping over a cord.

03

Cleaner air in the home

Portable vacuums recirculate dust back into the room. A central system exhausts everything outside the living area. Measurable difference for anyone with allergies or asthma.

04

Lasts longer than any portable vacuum

A well-installed central vacuum system lasts 20-30 years. Most homeowners go through 5-6 portable vacuums in that time, costing them more in total.

05

Adds value to the home

It’s a listed feature when you sell. Buyers notice it.

What's included in a full installation

Power unit sized for your home’s square footage

PVC piping run through walls, attic, or crawlspace

Wall inlet valves in every zone of the home

Electric or low-voltage hose and tool kit

Garage utility inlet (optional)

Full system test before we leave

No hose to store or drag.

Hide-A-Hose is a retractable central vacuum system where the hose lives inside the wall. Pull it out when you need it, let go when you’re done – suction draws it back in automatically. Available in 30, 40, 50, and 60 ft lengths. A 50 ft hose covers roughly 2,300 sq ft from a single inlet.

It installs in new construction or retrofits onto an existing system. Same pipe, same power unit – just a different inlet that replaces your standard wall valve.

How a central vacuum installation works

Same process every time - whether it's a new build or a retrofit.

Step 01

We assess the home

We look at the layout, square footage, and wall construction before recommending anything. The goal is maximum coverage with the fewest inlets and the most direct pipe route.

Step 02

We plan the pipe route

In new construction, pipe goes in before drywall. In existing homes, we run from the attic or crawlspace. We find the cleanest path so inlets land exactly where you’ll use them.

Step 03

We install the pipe and inlets

Every joint is glued and secured. Inlets are mounted flush to the wall. We don’t cut corners on the pipe run because a leak in the piping kills suction throughout the whole system.

Step 04

We connect the power unit

The unit goes in your garage, basement, or utility room. We size it to your home – too small and you lose suction at the far inlets, too large and you’ve overpaid for power you don’t need.

Step 05

We test everything

Every inlet is tested for suction. Every connection, checked. We don’t leave until the system is running the way it should throughout the whole house.

Step 06

We walk you through it

Before we go, we show you how to use every part, the hose, the attachments, how to empty the canister, and what to keep an eye on.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you install in an existing home without opening the walls?

Yes. We run pipe from the attic or crawlspace and mount inlets without cutting into drywall. It’s one of the most common jobs we do.

Most single-home installations are completed in one day. Larger homes or more complex layouts may take two days.

Depends on your floor plan. As a general rule, one inlet per 600-800 sq ft covers most homes comfortably. We’ll give you a specific number after looking at your layout.

It depends on your home’s square footage and your preferences around noise level and capacity. We carry MD Manufacturing units that are made in the USA, 10-year transferable warranty standard. We’ll match the right unit to your home on the assessment visit.

Yes. We rough in the pipe before drywall goes up and return to complete the installation once the home is finished.
